img_2691.jpgi was amazed by how rice is prepared and cooked for a meal… talagang nakabalot pa sa dahon ng niyog ba yun? hehe! not sure.. pero sa Leyte lang tlg ako nakakaita ng ganito… original “binalot” hehe!

    hi yhen! actually, according to kuya mar movillon, this could be traced back pa during the revolutionary period. kaya raw binalot because during the war, siyempre, taguan ang mga tao noon, the only way para mag ration ng pagkain is to throw the binalot sa mga taguan. dapat hindi obvious na nagtatapon ka para hindi ka mahuli na kasabwat. actually they call that “puso-puso”, though not close, it kinda shapes like a heart…

  2. hi ate lou tnx for that brief history on “binalot” or “puso puso” like what you have mentioned… actually, it only shows how wise Filipinos are, esp those times we are under the spanish regime. (naks! maghistory daw ba!)
