rice matters… and others, too!

November 26, 2008, Rice Garden at the Luneta Park – To conclude the Rice Awareness Month Celebration, a Ceremonial Harvesting was held at the Rice Garden. This activity aims to increase awareness among the people in the urban areas like Manila. Gracing the event were Hon. Arthur C. Yap, Secretary of the Department of Agriculture, Atty. Ronilo A. Beronio, PhilRice Executive Director, and Dr. Rhoda Lantin from the Asia Rice Foundation. The activity was participated by the different highschools and elementary schools located in Metro Manila, still believing that “ang kabataan ay pag-asa ng bayan”, words from the famous Fr. Jose Rizal.

Students presented a dance depicting a life of a farmer wherein planting up to harvesting was presented. It was a colorful and a fun activity where rice is the subject, emphasizing that indeed RICE is LIFE! Every Filipino, matanda man o bata, should and must know and learn the value of rice in our lives.

on the other hand naman, me and my friend erik also got the chance to glance the Manila Ocean Park, thou we really didn’t go inside the acquarium, at least we had a chance to take a picture outside with the landmark and the Manila Bay on the other side of the building.

We ate lunch here and saw Christmas decors inside, and yes i realized that Christmas is fast approaching. Grabeh, i said to myself, “ang bilis talaga ng panahon.” Parang kelan lang, oh man! I’m starting to feel na tumatanda na pala talaga tayo kasi sabi nga ni bob ong when you are trying to compare yourself already sa panahon mo noon signs daw yun na tumatanda na tayo. Anyway, ayos lang ganun talaga ang buhay. Back to my topic, yes its Christmas na, ano kaya ang plan ko sa buhay ngayong pasko?

Ayan, so another work and play activity we had there. I love my work, I got the chance to do my work and at the same time visit places and meet people from different walks of life.
