Is it God’s will or Not?

Often times, we, Christians are having a hard time knowing if what is or what will be happening to us is God’s will or not. It’s normal to doubt sometimes, but it’s not normal not to believe in what He can do in our lives.

I’ve been to a lot of situations where I needed to decide on something. More so, I have a lot of dreams, wishes, and prayers that sometimes came true and sometimes it didn’t.

But one thing I learned about these things and that is to still be thankful in all these circumstances. I always remind myself that disappointments are just God’s way of saying “I have something better in store for you,” so there’s no reason for me to blame God for not having what I desire. But then again, if it’s truly God’s will, then nothing can stop it!

ah… holy wednesday, nice to be back home here in Batac. just had my dinner at riverside/empanadaan… grabeh i miss my home. to Christians, holy week is a time para gunitain ang ginawa ni JC, who died on the cross for our sins. this is also a time for reflecting. for me, this is a moment of resting… for sure most of us ito yung gagawin.

leaving you with this photo taken here at Batac by my little sister Myrtle, yesterday, April 7, 2009. according to PAGASA, this is a cloud formation that surrounded the sun. to the oldies, they call it a pangitain or a sign from above. and as for my own perception, it is again a wonderful and amazing work of art from Above. a message from Him, saying, “don’t forget me this lenten season.”

three bullets…

Author Unknown

There once was a man who had nothing for his family to eat. He had an old rifle and three bullets. So, he decided that he would go out hunting and kill some wild game for dinner.

As he went down the road, he saw a rabbit. He shot at the rabbit and missed it. The rabbit ran away.

Then he saw a squirrel and fired a shot at the squirrel and missed it. The squirrel disappeared into a hole in a cottonwood tree.

As he went further, he saw a large wild turkey up in a tree, but he had only one bullet remaining. A voice spoke to him and said, “Pray first, aim high and stay focused.” However, at the same time, he saw a deer which would provide more meat than the turkey. He brought the gun down and aimed at the deer. But, then he saw a rattlesnake between his legs about to bite him, so he naturally brought the gun down further to shoot the rattlesnake. Still, the voice again said to him, “Pray first, aim high and stay focused.”

So, the man decided to listen to God’s voice. He prayed, then aimed the gun high up in the tree, and shot the wild turkey. The bullet went into the turkey, deflected off a bone and hit the deer, killing it. When the gun fired, it knocked the man off balance, he stepped on the rattlesnake’ s head which killed it and fell backwards into a pond. When he stood up to look around, he had fish in all his pockets, a deer and a turkey with which to feed his family. The snake was dead simply because the man listened to God.

Moral of the story: Keep God first and everything else will follow.

Pray first before you do anything. Aim high in your goals, and stay focused on God. Never let people or things discourage you concerning your past. Do not look to man for your blessings, but look only to

the devil’s beatitudes!

If the Devil were to write his Beatitudes, they would probably go
something like this:

Blessed are those who are too tired, too busy, too distracted to spend an hour once a week with their fellow Christians in Church – they are my best workers.

Blessed are those Christians who wait to be asked and expect to be
thanked – I can use them.

Blessed are the touchy, with a bit of luck they may stop going to
church – they are my missionaries.

Blessed are those who are very religious but get on everyone’s nerves
– they are mine forever.

Blessed are the troublemakers ~ they shall be called my children.

Blessed are those who have no time to pray – they are easy prey for

Blessed are the gossipers – for they are my secret agents.

Blessed are those critical of church leadership – for they shall
inherit a place with me in my fate.

Blessed are the complainers – I’m all ears for them.

Blessed are you when you read this and think it is about other people
and not yourself – I’ve got you.

10 reasons y God created eve

10. God worried that Adam would always be lost in the garden because He knew men would never ask for directions.

9. God knew that Adam would one day need someone to hand him the TV remote because men don’t want to see what is on TV; they want to see WHAT ELSE is on TV.

8. God knew that Adam would never buy a new fig leaf when the seat wore out and therefore would need Eve to get one for him.

7. God knew that Adam would never make a doctor’s appt for himself.

6. God knew that Adam would never remember which night was garbage night.

5. God knew that if the world was to be populated there would have to someone to bear children because men would never be able to handle it.

4. As Keeper of the Garden Adam would never remember where he put his tools.

3. The Scripture account of creation indicates that Adam needed someone to blame his troubles on when God caught him hiding in the garden.

2. As the Bible says, “It is not good for man to be alone”, he only ends up getting himself in trouble.

And the NUMBER ONE reason…

1. When God finished the creation of Adam he stepped back, scratched his head and said, “I can do better than that.”

…that’s what we called the power of a woman!!!

For generations, people have trusted the Bible. It has guided, encouraged, and comforted millions of people who readily testify to its life-changing impact. It is the best selling book of all time, and not by a small margin. Its ethical standards have launched freedom movements, and its laws and regulations have guided lawmakers, judges, and jurists by the score. It has inspired great works of music and art, including songs, sculpture, paintings, plays, and movies. Its graphic portrayals of heroes and heroines have captured the imagination of young and old alike.

On the other hand, it is also perhaps the most criticized document in history. Literally thousands of books have been written giving “evidence” that it is not true. Typical of false witnesses, the detractors often contradict each other, and their logic is faulty. Opponents claim that it is “just a book written by men.” Some critics say its main character, Jesus, never lived. Others acknowledge that he lived, but claim he never said what the Bible says he said. Others acknowledge that he lived and that much of what is recorded in the Bible was what he said, but assert that he was not literally raised from the dead. And so it goes. Like the false witnesses at Christ’s trial, their testimonies do not agree (Mark 14:59).

The best way for you to decide whether you can believe the Bible is to weigh the evidence for yourself. I trust that when all of it has been loaded onto the scales, you will find that the Bible is reliable, trustworthy, and 100% believable.

prayer for the day

Dear Heavenly Father, We are grateful that we can call on You for the grace we need when others trespass against us. Help us to maintain a loving attitude when we are faced with ill will. You said, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers,’ so help me to be one who tries to maintain peace among my acquaintances. Lord, help me to deal with those who are trouble-makers in the proper Biblical manner, so as to see them delivered. I ask You to help me refrain from anger, resentment, and rejection and to deal with them in love and wisdom. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.
