Celebrate LIFE; Celebrate RICE this November – the National Rice Awareness Month.

Be part of the many Pinoys who will express their love for rice through a fan sign. This activity aims to instill the importance of rice to our lives. If every Filipino will learn how to save rice, there will be enough rice for everyone.

Participants will also get the chance to win some prizes.

The Mechanics:

1. Create your most creative way of saying how much you love RICE. For example, you can snap a photo of yourself while holding a piece of paper with the “I love rice” phrase. (You can use your photography skills and Photoshop, too. Moreover, manipulations of photos are also accepted.)
2. When you’re done, email that digital photo/artwork at riceawareness@gmail.com and use I love rice Fan Sign as a subject. Place also your nickname and contact details in your message.
3. Remember: BE CREATIVE!

Start submitting your entries now. Deadline is on November 20, 2009. Winners will be announced on November 23, 2009. The organizers will contact the winners through email/text messages.

On the spot…

im starting to count days, that aside from Christmas is coming, i will be celebrating my 24th birthday nxt week. yes, its next week, and that’s three days from now.

no more tears…

after a long week of mourning and grieving, we finally got the chance to visit our lost friend in puguis, la trinidad, benguet. friday last week, we took the risk to go up the north. it took us 4hours to reach baguio from the usual 2 1/2 hours since we needed to take the detours in pangasinan.

i can’t sleep during that time, as if my emotions were lingered with so much worries. as we passed through the narrow and winding road of marcos highway, with mud on its side that came from the mountains and some roadcuts, i still can’t help myself but to think of what happened to our dearest ate toni.

i am not so sure how to begin this entry. but yesterday, while going to the world trade center, pasay city, para sa last day ng agrilink 09, sa loob ng jip na sinakyan ko may tumatak talaga sa akin na mga salita. i always see this sticker since i also attend to victory christian fellowship, pero dat tym, saka lang nagkaroon ng meaning sa buhay ko ang sticker na ito. it says…

aftermath (part 2)

pero sa kabila nang mga dinanas ng mga nasalanta ng bagyo nakita ko pa rin ang mga mukang handang bumangon. naisip ko tuloy na iba talaga ang Pinoy. anjan pa yung tipong nagagawa pang ngumiti at magpakyut sa harap ng camera sa kabila ng trahedya.

aftermath (part1)

noong linggo, habang nanonood ako ng mga balita patungkol sa Bagyong Ondoy at sa mga taong nabiktima nito, hindi ko mapigilan ang sarili ko na mahabag. sa sobrang grabe nang nangyari, sinabi ko sa sarili ko na hindi enough na pinapanood ko lang ang mga taong to na naawa at ipinagdarasal, I NEED TO DO SOMETHING.

dahil jan, kinausap ko ang presidente namin ng dorm na mangalap ng cash at in kind donations. di siya nagdalawang isip at sinuportahan ang ideyang ito. kaya noong lunes nagsimula na kaming magflood patungkol dito. at its a good thing naging positive ang response ng mga tao sa PhilRice.

nakalikom kami ng Php 22, 463 cash donations (not bad)

at bigas, na galing mismo sa PhilRice
